I got married twice in two years! That's a clickbait title. Keep reading for the story.

I've been ticking off boxes on the "real grown things" list: marriage, homeownership, cross country move, job change. Everything is everywhere.

Work

Professionally, I’m still working full time at BondLink, a platform with a suite of products for the municipal bond market. Our company went through layoffs and I added extra responsibilities to help compensate by becoming a hybrid product designer and product manager. I've been learning a ton and recognizing that this hybrid role feeds my interests in both the creative and the business.

The Wedding(s)

I got married twice in less than two years! Stay with me now.

My wife and I were engaged, with a venue deposit made, and we get the news my grandmother's cancer was accelerating, rapidly, and care transitioned to making her comfortable. She was in FL, we were in MA, and as she told us over video chat, she cried saying that she was most upset about missing her first grandchild's wedding. After hanging up, we looked at each other and were like "let's just go to city hall and she can watch over Zoom!" Fast forward three days of rush order clothing, some flowers, marriage license, etc. and we were married. My grandparents have given me so much--like, they took me to Hawaii at age 12--that I was happy to give them that gift of being able to see a grandchild wed together. She became unconscious the next day and never woke up.

18 months later, we had our second wedding anyway since it was half planned. Both days were the best.

BOS to ATL

After the second wedding, we moved from Boston to Atlanta. After spending a year learning the city, we decided to buy. We wanted to have something as turnkey as possible. But, man. People really aren't kidding when they say that there will always, always be something to do for the house. All the sudden, I spend a good chunk of my time thinking about my grass. What?
